CVGS Stay-Home Tea Party Fundraiser
By Shirley Vivion from an interview
With Betty Hutson, CVGS Director of Special Projects
A special invitation to the CVGS “Stay-Home Tea Party” fundraiser will be arriving in members’ mailboxes very soon, reports Betty Hutson. Betty also mentioned that she was on her way to pick out a delicious tea for our members. A teabag is included with the invitation so that CVGS members can enjoy sipping a nice cup of tea at home, in their pajamas and slippers and not have to go anywhere. Betty also suggests reading a favorite history or genealogy book while enjoying the tea.
Betty has coordinated this successful fundraiser for the last few years following in the tradition of our former Director of Special Projects, Pat Harmon who brought the clever idea to our society! In the past funds generated have been used for many purposes including deferring the costs for the society’s 40th Anniversary celebration in 2019, which allowed CVGS to keep the luncheon cost down and cover the admission for the society’s founding members and former presidents. This year, the funds will go towards implementing a CVGS Seminar, which has been on hold the last few years.
