ABOUT US

The Conejo Valley Genealogical Society (CVGS) welcomes everyone with an ambition to research family history!  We are here to assist you in your search and to teach you how to find the information you seek.  The Conejo Valley Genealogical Society was established in 1979 to further interest, education, and knowledge in genealogy/history, and to provide fellowship among those interested in these subjects. This non-profit Society serves the Conejo Valley, consisting of Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, and several neighboring communities.

We have an interesting variety of programs about genealogy at our general meetings.  We also have regular meetings to educate members in genealogical research methods including computer interest group, DNA special interest group, writing group, and research tools class.  Our meetings are all held in the Grant R. Brimhall Library in the city of Thousand Oaks, CA (virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic).

CVGS maintains a large collection of genealogical research materials at the Thousand Oaks Library (http://www.toaks.org/library). We have volunteers available at the Library to aid you in your quest! Check the Library Volunteers Calendar for staffing hours.
